Can something like an ordinary electric drip coffee maker be the reason for a Sinchen Rant? Of course it can! Every single time something fails in an unnecessary way I feel like running up the walls screaming loudly.
A Simple, Inexpensive Coffee Maker
It even came with two thermoses (second one is in storage room)
But the insert—or funnel—where you put the coffee filter and the coffee powder? That thing was only included once. Why is that…? 🤔 Let’s me about it! 🤔
😡Because the flimsy axis that allows swinging the funnel is a d*mn, f*cking predetermined breaking point, that’s why!😡 Even a stupid coffee maker— a simple one—is plagued by planned obsolescence. Go eat sh*t, you money-grubbing b*stards!
Repair?
How could I possibly repair plastic that has become brittle? Superglue melts plastics, epoxy is too hard; it can’t get properly bind to this smooth plastic. I tried hot glue, but that was a total flop, too. It broke right off again after just one day.
Screw you! Literally. This thing needs to be screwed with a Spax screw. I drilled through the hot glue and the plastic. This was hard to do with a tiny, short drill bit. There is no way to hold the drilling machine in a way that the drill bit can go straight down. It somehow worked. Spax screw in, hot air soldering station to melt that glue again. Now the three things, plastic axis, screw and hot glue are bound together. Working since a few days. Take that, obsolescence idiots!
